Wedding season is upon us, and here at HCWHY we have noticed a lot of our wedding clients having a Rustic Woodland theme to their wedding!
Here are some tips on how to create an effective woodland theme:
The use of hessian as table runners or wrapped around napkins and jam jars. There are so many different options you can go for to bring out the rustic feel to your wedding.
Now you have your table laid you its time for the centrepiece! You can keep it simple and have a wooden tree slice with jam jars filled with wild flowers or candles. Or you can go extravagant and use different sized tree slices, mixed with some moss, wooden vases and pinecones! Have a look at the pictures below for inspiration and how to complete your table layout.
Wooden Boards or Blackboards are an effective way to show your guests table tables or the menu/timetable for the day. They are also useful to guide them to certain areas (reception drinks, toilets etc). All you need is a white chalk pen and an artistic flair to writing!
Now its making a decision about food! Rustic style is great for buffet tables and sharing platters. Crusty bread that you cut yourself, anti pasti of meats and cheeses, BBQ or Hog Roasts, big bowls of salads combined with different chutneys and condiments. All displayed on wooden boards, crates, tree slices, metal buckets for cutlery and vintage bowls.
For reception drinks having a large kilner jar for a mixed punch or Pimms is a great especially if you have that in jam jars! Also large metal buckets filled with beer and ice for guests to help themselves to. You can even use a wheelbarrow or large metal troth for a display. Wooden barrels with wood on top is a perfect for the evening bar all you need is 2 old barrels and a thick piece of the wood and the bar is set! Its all about help yourself with the rustic drinks so why not have guests write their name on their glass so that they don’t loose it!
