We are currently in the process of updating our Wine Menus and we were invited to our new wine supplier, Milton Sandford Wines, to visit their cellars and try out the wines that have been carefully selected for you!
We are excited to use Milton Sandford as our new supplier as they have a unique chalk mine cellar to store all of their wines.
The chalk mines are all natural and have a great history. In the Second World War, they were converted into an aircraft factory. And in the early days of the Cold War, they were used as a top-secret, highly classified bunker.
Not too hot, not too cold, not too bright. Storing wine is an art in itself – one that comes naturally to their underground chalk cellars in Berkshire. This is great for our company ethos, of using local companies and sustaining our environment, as the chalk mines have the perfect condition for storing wines and do not need additional power to help them. The humidity in their cellars are fairly constant, as is the 12°C temperature and with no sunlight or vibrations to disturb the wine, every bottle stays in tip top condition.
We are so pleased that we get to offer these fantastic new wines to our clients and hope you all enjoy them as much as we did at the tasting!
